Palm Springs on a scorching 41º day meant visiting a brewery wasn't just desired it was required, enter the super chilled, indy skate vibes of Las Palmas.

Grab a seat at the bar and chat to the team about their small by carefully considered beer list, all made on site, and your quickly learn they're passionate about their beer.

If you are used to breweries that that push you to push to "Beer Flights" don't make the rookie error at Las Palmas, or you'll likely also receive a roll of the eyes and get told we have Pequenas (small), Pints and Pitchers only.

Very content with three small beers sitting in front of me on the bar, it seemed ok to ask for the wifi password, "no flights, all one word" I'm told with a smile, clearly I made a rookie error.

Left: Bloom 6.3% Unflitered IPA. Right: Good 5.9% West Coast Pilsner
Having never been to Palm Springs, this was also the perfect place to spend an afternoon to people watch as the small bars constant procession of locals of all different ages and cultures, alternate fashion, great banter, laughs, and puppies, all overlayed with an awesome soundtrack.

Left: Classic 5.5% Pale Ale Right: Infinate Scroll 6% Pale Ale
Beers poured in these smalls create a much nicer sampling expereince, gone is the temptation to quickly move up and down a paddle tasting everytning at once, this was about stopping and trying their craft beers.

Fifty Four 5.7% French Saison and some takeawasys
If you are designed a mircobrewery this is as close to perfection as you can get, every square inch is used well. Production in the back, coolroom in the middle, bar at the front with taps leading straight out of the cool room wall.

The complete beverage list also has teh non-beer drinkers covered with a small showcase of interesting orange wine, and natural white, red and rose which they are equally excited to explain and sample.

If you find yourself in the desert, if your there when its over 40ºc then make surew you head over to the brewery to cool down and have some great local beers.
