When I was asked to get Taylor Swift tickets, as always I confidently replied, "no problem", at this stage she hadn't even confirmed coming to Australia and I had no idea of the full extent of Taylor Swift mania, Swiftie obsession and volume of fans she has.

In the lead up to the announcement of the concerts I started to appreciate I may have spoken a little too soon, and that this was the hottest ticket for 2024. Where every Taylor Swift went in the world, ticketing chaos followed and concierge had desperate Swifts asking for tickets.

Once the concerts in Sydney were announced, the promoter, a credit card company and a ticketing agency all proudly listed dates for ticket releases, pre-sale tickets and even a pre-pre-sale, each with the strict rule of 4 tickets per transaction.

Success in this environment clearly couldn't be guaranteed jumping online and pressing the refresh button, the promoters per-sale already had over 300,000 registered and my contact at the credit card company told me exactly how many tickets they really had, so I knew that would be challenging.

Tickets needed to be secured before the general sale, before the pre-sales, even before the pre-pre-sale began.

The little black book came out, after a few phone calls and a little bit of insider advice I'm given an email address, and soon after Im talking to the one person that has a very special part of Olympic Park Stadium that I can access now, 2 weeks before anything is available.

6.00am Thursday 29th June Ticketek announces of a 4th and final concert in Sydney on Twitter, by 6.30am online news sources have running it as their lead, at 7.30am I contact my new best friend, and by 9.30am I had a confirmed my choice of 8, 20 or 40 person private box with full catering.

Like everyone else I still jumped online for the pre-sale and general sale to see if we potentially pot lucked and were able to get additional tickets, or tickets platinum tickets, didn't get them, but thankfully we already had our tickets.
